Takayama is famous for its beef called the Hida Beef

Streets of Takayama

Sake Brewery

Mitarashi Dango (Sweet Rice dumping on skewer)

Yamakyu Inn, this is our accomodations for the night. The accomodations include 2 meals and hot bath.

Our 6 tatami mat room, not luxurious but definately a traditional experience.

Our rooms from the outside

Takayama is famous for its Sake, and after visiting several brewery and sake tasting we decide that this was really good. Since, we will be staying at our rokyokan most of time it will be good to just relax over sake. (1350yen)

Althought, we had a really small room, but look at our views! I only wish that it had been snowing. Apparently it started snowing 2 days after we left Takayama!

We counted and we had 13 dishes!

Eel! Yummy!

While we were having dinner, they were busy setting our room for us to rest.

Grill Miso Paste for breakfast! Never had it before and its taste really good with white rice.

Breakfast in the common room

The whole experience of visiting this place and staying a night at the royaoan is truly enjoyable. The royokan was a small family run business and the service is truly good. The food was delicious and hot bath was cosy. We really love this place and hope that we will one day be able to come back again.
